Alright so I'm prone to doing some crazy things at times...after visiting Seattle once for just a weekend I packed up my bags and moved there to go to school...I once bought a plane ticket and travelled to Toronto to see some band playing with a symphony Well in early May I chopped off my hair! Well it was a long time coming...it's fine and dandy growing your hair out when you live up north...not so much down south...especially when your hair is really thick...So my hair was chopped off just above my shoulders...not the shortest that I've ever had my hair by far...but it was a whopping 11 1/2 inches of hair that was chopped! So I didn't really want my hair that short...but I decided one day that this was one thing that I could do to help someone...I can't donate blood...I'll probably never be able to donate any organs...I'm constantly broke...So I donated my hair to Locks of Love...they are a non profit agency that uses donated hair to make wigs for children with cancer...so the other day I got the most precious postcard in the mail...it was addressed to me by a child (you could tell by the writing) and said "Thank You"...it was so sweet...and you know what hair will grow back...and it sure does feel good to know that a smile was put on one of those little one's faces... That's my heartwarming story for the moment.... Laura

That's awesome Laura! Not to steal your thunder or anything, but I did the same thing, only it was 24 inches of hair! I went from this: ...to the short, spiky 'do seen here: I'm VERY glad I did, I like it much better short (SO much less work!!!), AND I helped out some very needy children. Cheers! Andy.

Hey Laura that's really touching. I got a little choked up. Forzby you look a lot better with short hair. It makes you look a good ten to fifteen years younger too! ;D

damnit, I can never figure out how to post pics anyways... that's so awesome Laura! Youve inspired me to do that when I get sick of my hair... much better than sweeping it all up and putting it in the garbage. and BTW Forbzy... short hair is MUCH nicer on you.

That's awesome Laura! Not to steal your thunder or anything, but I did the same thing, only it was 24 inches of hair! Damn you Andy for stealing my thunder Wow you had a lot cut off too! It is so much easier having it cut shorter...my hair is so thick that it used to take hours to get it fully dried...if I attempted to blow dry it I felt like I needed another shower afterwards! Now it's just wash and go....sometimes it's up just for a bit when I get to work then it's nice and dry...ahhhh...it's wonders for someone who is not a morning person Andy did you donate to Locks of Love or is there a Canadian equivelent? I'll agree with the other 99% and say it looks better shorter...but now I do wonder how old you are...and that's a good thing... Laura

I've had long hair twice in my life. I'll have to find some pics and post them.

Joychica....how cool of you to do that. I should chop mine off too. Forbzy, you look great with short hair...I agree...way better and much younger I've always wished I could just pack up and move. How amazing it would be to have that freedom. Canada maybe? Too bad there's not a NASA branch there, or they'd allow me to relocate my lab because I'd be there like last year.

Yep, Forbzy, you look great with short hair! Younger, and the short cut shows off your eyes!
