p.s. just re-read my post, and I don't mean that the 'coward(s)' is female, just a funny/creepy thought I had.

If it were up to me, I'd ditch the whole idea of guest logins. Some posts are legitimate but it seems that most of the anonymous posts do not contribute to the vibe of this forum - a prime example being the spam threads in the "Bass Stuff" forums. Having said that, from being a ProBoards owner myself, I should warn anonymous pot-stirrers that they really aren't that anonymous when they're posting or even lurking on this board.

the little 'Logged' w/ the plugged in globe picture is a good hint too what Pinto is talking about.

kcbent...I sincerely apologize if my thought upset you, I thought that maybe his past endeavour would have shown him the respect he deserves for being a founding member of that project. Maybe I'm wrong, and Ken doesn't give a crap about being on that DVD...none-the-less...I speak and type my mind. No no no no no, I'm not mad at you, Reil, I'm mad at the thought of the DVD not having Ken and Sekou in it. I hadn't seen that thread on that board yet and didn't know any of that. I went back and re-read how my post sounded and I can see where it was misleading. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think I'm probably more like you - I don't suck up to anyone and I'll speak my mind. I won't deliberately provoke someone, but I won't go along with the crowd either. I agree with Raf, I thought filming had already begun since there was so much talk as if a DVD were already in the works. Again, maybe that was all just rumors or bad information, who knows. I won't even pretend to know about any of the legal stuff of including previous footage, but plenty of other bands are putting out DVD's with previous band members in them. Not having seen the DVD yet, I can't say if I'll find it inappropriate or not, but personally (and as Ken says, this is an open forum) if the DVD acts as if Ken and Sekou never existed yet covers anything from the time frame when they were an integral part of the band, then I will be highly offended by that. This wouldn't be a 'Thornley' issue to me, just a basic issue. While a DVD is strictly for entertainment purposes, it does need to be accurate. Anything to do with the first CD or those songs includes Ken and Sekou, imo. And Ken, it's good to see you do have 'fangs'!!

Anything to do with the first CD or those songs includes Ken and Sekou, imo. Because this is an "open forum" I'll throw in my mis-educated guess as to what I think might be going on. It's likely that I'm completely wrong: I don't know what the exact business situation is with Thornley but I'm assuming that they're going back to square one with an entirely different line up than was on "Come Again" (I believe that Tavis did not lay any tracks down for that album). If Thornley is going to be re-introduced to North America, from a marketing persepective, it might not be wise to have promotional material that keeps harking back to a time when the band might've actually been better - especially when some critics still refuse to let Thornley out of Big Wreck's shadow. So if moving forward, they take a revisionist approach to promotion where Ken & Sekou never existed, I wouldn't be surprised and I also wouldn't be too offended. Ken's creative legacy in The Watchmen is what brought me to this board in the first place. Thornley was just gravy.

not taking anything away from the other members (especially ken), ian was/is the main creative force behind thornley and was also for big wreck. in saying that, i don't think he has downplayed the other members contributions at all. he obviously needed them, he couldn't go on stage by himself, and i've never heard him discount or badmouth anybody he's ever worked with.
i suspect the changes may be a bit out of the band's control. record companies often have the say as far as who they like to see together. fly enough money in their faces and you see reunions of bands whose members hate eachother's guts.
i learned about ken when he made himself known on the big wreck board. i was reluctant at first to come over, but it was the community that drew me in and kept me here. ken has worked very hard to solicit himself and his material, and i respect him for that.

You know - not much really phases me with the whole rumor mill. I know people like to talk and people like to stir the pot - hell so do I from time to time. However, it has been very important to me to leave this space as an open forum. There is no need to make all the topics about me and my endeavors. Hell you can even spew crap and I don't really care. BUT!!! there has been a presence here that is driving me crazy. The anonymous and guest messages which pop up so conveniently from time to time. If you have something to say - say it. If you are going to come on here and claim to have insight, secret information or inside knowledge about "MY" business please be aware that I do know who comes through here and would appreciate it if you get your damn facts straight. For those of you too cowardly to log in and speak your mind - FUCK OFF!! Otherwise feel free to say what you want. ps - I do allow guest comments on the site as a rule due to the "open forum" vibe. Just don't claim to be in the know about something and hide behind a guest login.
this is not good forum lollollollollollol
